Jamaican Mango & Lime Pimento Oil 7 in 1 Butter 6 oz

Pimento is allspice, pressed from the berries of the Pimenta Dioica tree that grows in Jamaica. In hair products it turns up far less often than castor or coconut, and it brings a warm, spicy scent that is unmistakable once you have used it.

Here it sits in a rich butter base of shea, cocoa butter and Jamaican black castor oil. That combination puts it firmly in sealant territory: something you use at the end of a routine on damp hair, or on dry ends that need softening, rather than as a leave-in you rinse away. The butter melts on contact and coats the strand, and that is where the reduction in breakage comes from, because hair that is soft and slippery takes less punishment during detangling and daily handling.

Use it sparingly. A rich butter goes a long way and 6 oz will last, especially if you are sealing ends rather than coating the whole head. Best on tighter, drier textures and on locs, twists and braids that need moisture held in for days at a time.

The scent is worth knowing about before you buy. Pimento is warm and peppery, closer to a kitchen spice than to the vanilla and coconut that dominate this shelf, and it lingers.
