It is a firm, concentrated wax rather than a light one, and the resistant formula is compounded to keep its grip in conditions where standard waxes go soft. Damp air, sweat and light water contact do not loosen it the way they loosen a general purpose locking product. The trade-off is what you would expect from a wax: it grips hard, so use small amounts and be ready to clarify properly on wash day.

Application tips
Heat is the trick with any wax. Rub a small amount between the palms until it turns clear, and it will spread instead of sitting in lumps on the hair.
Use it at the root and only at the root, rolling each loc between the palms in one direction until the new growth tightens. Less than you think. Over-applying wax causes a problem you then have to wash out over weeks.
Results
Locs that keep unravelling at the base stay closed. Coarse, slippery textures that shrug off a standard wax get enough grip to hold a retwist for the full stretch between appointments.
Humidity stops undoing the work. A swim, a downpour or a British August will not soften the hold the way a lighter wax gives way, so the pattern you set is the pattern you still have a fortnight later.
