It is pressed from the nuts of the Schinziophyton rautanenii tree in southern Africa, it is high in eleostearic acid, and it is not an oil you will find in many hair products. Cottonseed oil sits alongside it, and Jamaican black castor oil forms the base.
What that combination gives you is a conditioning oil that feels less heavy than plain black castor oil on its own, with a nutty rather than sweet scent. Use it on the scalp, on damp lengths as a sealing step, or worked into the ends before a protective style goes in.
