Same cactus oil, different job. Where the pure oil is a treatment, the serum is a finisher, blending cactus and argan oils with conditioning agents and built to go on last and stay put.
Most shine serums get their gloss from silicone, which coats the hair and does very little else. This one is silicone free and takes its shine from the oils themselves, so the gloss arrives with real conditioning behind it. The texture is light and it disappears into the hair on contact. Use it on locs, braids, twists and wash and go styles, a few drops rubbed between the palms and smoothed over the surface, and it will flatten flyaways, tidy the edges of a style and hold frizz down without stiffening anything.
4 oz. Good for type 2a to 3c, and particularly good on anyone who gave up on serums because of the build up.

Application tips
Last step, on dry hair, once the style is finished. Put two drops in the palms, rub them together until the hands feel barely damp, then skim the hair with flat palms.
Edges and the crown take a fingertip's worth pressed in rather than smoothed. Do not go near the roots on fine hair, and never use it before a diffuser, since it is a finisher rather than a prep.
Results
Shine turns up straight away and it looks like light on hair rather than a coat of gloss over it. Locs and braids stop looking dusty.
Flyaways lie down and stay down, without any stiffness in the hair afterwards. Because no silicone is doing the work, it washes out cleanly and never accumulates into the dull grey film that puts people off serums to begin with.
