Mousse sits between a gel and nothing at all. It gives you enough hold to braid cleanly, without the film that gels leave behind and without the flaking and buildup that come with them.
Lightweight and flexible is the description that matters. Braids hold their shape but the hair still moves, and you can take a set down without cracking a shell of product. Smoothing agents add slip so sections part cleanly and the roots stay free of frizz.
It doubles as a setting product, which is where the second half of the name comes from. Roller sets, flexi-rod styles, braid-outs and twist-outs all take it, and it dries down non-tacky so the finished style feels like hair.
Conditioning ingredients offset the dryness that comes from handling hair repeatedly during a long install.
8oz. Best for wavy through curly hair, and a good option if you have found braid gels too heavy.
