Jamaican Mango & Lime build theirs around authentic black castor oil, so the scalp gets conditioned while it is being cleaned. It is gentle enough for locs, braids and installed styles, where you want to clear buildup without disturbing the work, and it is safe on chemically treated hair.
The lather is moderate rather than foamy, which is normal without sulphates and is not a sign it is doing less. Massage it into the scalp, let it run down the lengths, rinse thoroughly and follow with a conditioner while the hair is still wet. Suits type 3b through 4c hair. 8 oz.

Application tips
Dilute a capful in a bottle of warm water if you are washing locs or braids. It reaches the scalp through a style far better than neat product does, and rinses out in a fraction of the time.
On loose hair, use it neat. Two washes on a heavy build-up week, one on a normal one. Whatever you do, rinse for longer than feels necessary; residue left in is what makes hair feel coated the next day.
Results
Nothing feels stripped. The roots come out properly clean but the hair is still soft enough to comb, rather than dry and grabby the moment it dries.
Build-up goes. Weeks of oils, gels and city dust come away, and the roots feel lighter for it. Colour holds up better than it does under a harsh detergent, and a fresh set of braids comes through a wash without turning fuzzy at the parts.
