Being sulphate-free keeps the cleanse light enough that curls hold their moisture and colour-treated hair fades more slowly. Hair comes out clean but still pliable, which is the state you want it in for detangling. Loose waves, tight coils, heat-styled hair, wigs and braids all sit fine with it.
To use it: apply to wet hair and scalp, massage with your fingertips rather than your nails, then rinse thoroughly and follow with conditioner or your usual leave-in. 12 oz, made in the USA. Application tips
This is the weekly one, not the monthly reset. A small amount at the scalp, a light massage, one rinse, and you are done. It lathers less than a sulphate shampoo, so judge it by how the scalp feels rather than by the foam. Wigs and braids can be washed with it diluted in a bottle of water and squeezed along the parts, which stops the hair underneath matting.
Results
Clean and still pliable, never squeaky. The curl pattern survives the wash, so there is something to work with while it is wet. Colour holds its brightness longer than it does under a stripping cleanser, and the mint leaves the scalp feeling fresh without any tingle that hangs about. Heat styled and protected hair both come through it soft.
