That thickness is the useful part. It clings, which makes it a sealant rather than a moisturiser. You put the moisture in with water or a leave-in first, then this goes over the top to keep it there.

Application tips
Water or a leave in goes on first, always. This one is a sealing step and it has nothing of its own to trap unless the moisture is already there.
Rub three or four drops between warm palms to loosen the texture, then press it down the lengths rather than raking it through. On the scalp, part in rows and use a fingertip. Once a week is plenty on fine hair.
Results
Hair holds its moisture noticeably longer, so the ends are still soft the next morning rather than dry by bedtime. The coating cuts the friction that snaps strands during styling, which is how length gets kept.
