The cold hit is the point. Menthol and peppermint oil give this conditioner a sharp tingle across the scalp the moment it goes on, which is why it reads as a treatment rather than an ordinary rinse-out.
Underneath the cooling it behaves like a conditioner, and a fairly rich one. Shea butter and argan oil soften the lengths, and hydrolysed wheat protein gives the strand something to hold onto, so hair comes out of the shower less inclined to snap when the comb goes through it. The two halves of that formula matter equally. A cooling scalp product that leaves the lengths dry is only doing half a job.

Application tips
The tingle peaks about thirty seconds in and eases off after a couple of minutes, so do not panic and rinse early. Part the hair and get it onto the scalp itself, then take whatever is left down to the ends. Leave it three minutes. If your scalp is sensitive, or you have just taken braids out, try a small patch before committing to the whole head.
