Application tips
Colour lasts longer when the water is cooler and the wash is shorter, so both are worth doing here. One small application, worked into the scalp only, then rinsed.
A shampoo without sulphates does not foam much, which is normal and not a sign to add more. If you wash more than twice a week, alternate this with a rinse of water alone and save the shampoo for the days it is needed.
Results
Colour keeps its brightness noticeably longer between top-ups, and the fade that does happen is even rather than blotchy.
Hair does not come out squeaking, so the lengths still feel soft before conditioner. The scalp stays comfortable on frequent washes. Reds and coppers, which run first, are where the difference shows up soonest.
