Fine Lines UK 6.0-inch Professional Hairdressing Scissors (361-60) for Precision Cutting & Ergonomic Styling
Convex edge, hollow ground interior. Those two features are what separate a proper cutting scissor from a shop bought pair, and the 361-60 has both.
A convex edge is ground to a curve rather than a bevel, which lets the blade slice through hair instead of pushing it. Hollow grinding takes material out of the inner face so the two blades meet at a point rather than along their full length, cutting friction and letting them close smoothly. Between them you get a clean cut with no pull and no bent ends, which is the whole reason slide cutting works at all.
6.0 inches, the middle of the range and the length most stylists reach for first. Fine enough for detail, long enough for scissor over comb.
It also takes a proper sharpening. A convex edge has to go back to a specialist rather than onto a bench grinder, and that is worth factoring in, because a pair like this is meant to be maintained for years rather than replaced.

Application tips
Set the tension before the first cut. Hold the blades vertical, open them to a right angle and let the top blade fall; it should travel about two thirds of the way and stop. Too loose and the hair folds instead of parting.
Wipe the blades down between clients, oil the pivot at the end of the day, and store them closed in a case rather than loose in a drawer.
Results
Six inches is the length that covers most of a working day. Long enough for a blunt line across the back, short enough to control point cutting around a fringe without the tips running away from you.
The blades meet cleanly along their length, so hair is severed rather than pushed, and the ends stay clean instead of chewed. Comfortable through a full column of clients.
Composition
The full INCI is printed on the pack. We publish it here as soon as the brand supplies it, and we will read it off the bottle for you if you ask.
