The same pairing as the spray, in oil form, which changes how and when you use it.

Keratin is the protein hair is built from, and heat tools, colour and chemical processing take it out of the shaft a little at a time. This puts it back, and the Brazilian hair oil carries it in and conditions on the way. Hair that had gone dull, coarse and over-processed softens, gets its weight back, and stops feeling like straw between the fingers.

As an oil it goes further on damp hair than the spray does, and it is easier to concentrate on the ends where damage collects. The shine is real rather than superficial, because it comes from a smoothed cuticle rather than a gloss agent sitting on top. 171ml / 5.78 oz, aimed at waves through to 3c curls, and most useful on hair that gets coloured or straightened regularly.

Where the spray suits a routine that already works and only needs finishing, the oil is the one to reach for when the hair is properly worn out. It is the heavier of the two, and heavy is what over-processed hair asks for. Put it on damp rather than dry and it spreads far more evenly.

Application tips

Use it on wash day, on hair that has been towelled but is still holding water. Pour a small pool into your palm, rub your hands together, and press it into the bottom third of the hair first.

Work upward only if there is any left. Leave it on. For a deeper pass, wrap the hair in a warm towel for twenty minutes before you style.

Results

Coarse, over-processed hair softens and gets some of its body back, so a section stops standing away from the head. The gloss sits deep instead of on the surface, which is why it survives a comb through.

Ends stop splitting as quickly. Chemically straightened or regularly coloured hair sees the biggest change, usually across three or four wash days rather than one.
