The violet pigment neutralises the yellow and orange tones that surface in bleached, blonde and grey hair as the cool cast wears off. It is a maintenance product for the weeks between salon visits rather than a colour correction in itself, and it works best used consistently from the point your tone is still good, not after it has gone properly brassy.
Leave it on for a couple of minutes to start with. Longer for a stronger effect, shorter if your ends are porous and grabby. Grey and white hair takes violet pigment very quickly, so treat the first wash as a test rather than a routine.

Application tips
Wear gloves. Violet pigment stains hands, nails and grout, and it does not come off easily once it has set. Work it through wet hair and start with one minute, not five. Rinse, dry a section and check the tone in daylight before deciding to go again. Porous, heavily lifted hair takes pigment fast, so treat the first wash as a test.
Results
Yellow and orange undertones drop out and blonde, bleached or grey hair reads cool again. On lighter bases the shift towards silver or platinum shows after a single wash.
It cleanses as well as tones, so it replaces your usual shampoo on the days you reach for it. Panthenol and wheat protein keep the hair from feeling as dry as toning shampoos often leave it.
