Salt is a thickener in a lot of shampoos, and it is also the thing that pulls colour out and dries hair that is already fragile. Taking it out is the point of this formula.

What is left is a mild wash built on active hydrolysed keratin, which fills in the weak spots along the hair shaft where damage has opened the cuticle. On bleached, coloured or heat-worn hair, that shows up as smoother lengths and less snapping when you comb.

  • Salt-free, so colour holds longer between appointments
  • Hydrolysed keratin for strength through mid-lengths and ends
  • Mild enough for frequent use on chemically treated hair
  • 250ml / 8.45 oz

It is not a curl product specifically, though damaged curly hair benefits from keratin as much as any other texture. Follow it with a rich conditioner, because keratin on its own will not give you slip.

Keratin shampoos also work better in blocks than permanently. A month of regular use after a bleach or a chemical straightening does more than a year of occasional washes, and once the hair has stopped snapping you can drop back to a plain moisturising shampoo.

Application tips

Wet the hair through, then a coin-sized amount at the scalp, worked in with the pads of the fingers. The lather is modest. That is normal. It is not a signal to add more.

Rinse, and only repeat if the hair was heavily coated. Follow with a conditioner or a mask, because a keratin shampoo on its own leaves the surface slightly rougher than a moisturising one.

Results

The hair is left clean without the colour looking a shade duller, which is the point of leaving salt out of a shampoo aimed at dyed and treated hair.

Damaged lengths feel stronger and less spongy, the surface reads smoother, and there is enough shine to notice in daylight.

It works best as the first step of a keratin routine.
