Dabur Amla Gold Hair Oil: Deep Nourishment & Strength for Healthy Hair 200ml/6.76 oz
Three things separate Dabur's Gold variant from the standard Amla oil. It is a blend rather than a single-note oil, it is aimed at hair that is already weak and damaged rather than hair being maintained, and it sits heavier on the strand.
Amla, the Indian gooseberry, is the constant across the range. It has been used on hair in Ayurvedic practice for centuries, and what it does cosmetically is condition the strand and the scalp and leave a deep shine other oils do not quite match.
The Gold version is the one to choose if your hair has been coloured, straightened or repeatedly heat-styled and now feels rough and looks flat. It is rich, it needs warming between the palms, and it wants to be left on for a while rather than smoothed in and forgotten. Hair that has been processed drinks it in a way that healthier hair does not.
Apply to the scalp and lengths, leave it at least an hour or overnight, then shampoo out. Weekly is the traditional rhythm and it holds up.
200ml. Works on wavy through 4a hair, and best on hair that has taken a battering.

Application tips
Thicker than the plain version, so give it ten seconds between the palms before it goes anywhere near hair. Press it into the scalp along four partings, then draw what is left from mid-length down.
Under a shower cap it goes further. Processed hair takes as long as you can give it, and two shampoos will clear the oil without leaving the ends stripped.
Results
Rough, over-processed hair softens most obviously, because it has the most room to take the oil in. Coloured and heat-styled lengths stop feeling brittle under the fingers.
Shine is the other half of it, deeper than a light oil manages, and it holds for a couple of days after washing. Combing gets quieter, and fewer ends snap off in the process.
