Tight coils lose moisture faster than any other texture, and a sulphate wash every few days makes that worse rather than better.

Fantasia's IC co-wash is the alternative: a conditioning cleanse for 3A through 4C hair that clears the scalp without touching the oils the hair needs to hold its pattern.

A word on frequency, because co-washing gets misused. Coily hair does well on a co-wash between shampoos and badly on a co-wash forever. Conditioning agents accumulate, and the curl pattern goes soft and undefined without anyone quite working out why. Run a clarifying wash every three or four weeks and this stays useful indefinitely.

Best on dense, dry or tightly coiled hair that dries out within a day of washing. Fine waves will find it heavy.
