What is left is a light hydrator built around jojoba oil. Jojoba absorbs quickly rather than sitting on the surface, so fine and short curls take on moisture without the weight that would pull them straight. The formula is handmade from natural ingredients and it is safe on colour-treated hair and on grey.
Its real use is alongside a gel rather than instead of one. Applied over a gel-set wash and go, it softens the cast, so you get less crunch and more movement while keeping the definition the gel gave you. Fine curls that go stiff and flat under a gel alone are the obvious candidates.

Application tips
It goes on after the gel, not before. Set the wash and go first, let the cast form, then take a small amount on damp fingers and smooth it over the outside of the curls to break that cast down. On short hair that is barely a fingertip's worth per side. Rework anything that has clumped oddly while your hands are still damp, then stop.
Results
The crunch disappears and what is left is soft, shiny and still holding its shape. Fine curls keep their definition instead of collapsing the moment the cast comes off, which is what usually happens when you scrunch out with oil alone. No scent at all, which matters if fragrance gives you a headache. Short curls in particular read fuller rather than flattened.
