Big Energy leans toward the root end of the problem. It is a clarifying, water-based cleanser that lifts the build-up flattening your curls at the scalp.
The formula is mineral-rich and sulphate-free, so the clarifying happens without the harsh, stripped finish a traditional clarifier leaves. Silicone-free and pH balanced as well, which matters if you are trying to keep a low build-up routine intact.

Application tips
Use it as the reset rather than the weekly wash. Wet hair, a coin sized amount, straight onto the roots and worked in circles across the whole scalp, then a second application if the first refuses to lather.
Leave it a minute before rinsing so it has time to lift what is sitting at the base of the hair. Condition the lengths only afterwards, and keep that off the root area.
Results
Roots stop lying flat. The hair feels lighter as soon as it is rinsed, and the curl reads as bigger because the weight holding it down has gone. Product residue and hard water film come away with it. Curls spring back closer to their real pattern, and a styler that had stopped working usually starts behaving again once the buildup underneath is off.
