Orange is the tone that surfaces in bleached hair once the cool cast starts to fade, and blue is what cancels it. That is the entire job of this bottle: a blue-pigmented shampoo that puts a small amount of colour back each time you wash, so brassiness never gets a proper foothold.

It works on blonde, bleached, silver and grey hair, and it handles both the yellow and the orange end of brassiness. The cleansing base is gentle, so it tones without leaving hair dry, but the pigment is real and it will grab on porous ends if you leave it too long.

Start with two or three minutes and go up from there. Wear gloves if your hands stain easily.

250 ml. Use it once or twice a week rather than every wash, and keep an ordinary shampoo in rotation for the days between.

Application tips

Wear gloves and treat it as a timed step rather than a normal wash. Work it through wet hair, leave it two to three minutes for maintenance, up to five if the brass has got ahead of you, then rinse until the water is clear. Once or twice a week is enough. Alternate it with your usual shampoo, and rinse the shower down afterwards.

Results

Blue works on orange, which makes it the right pick when the warmth in your hair is closer to copper than to yellow. Purple toners tend to miss that band and leave it sitting there.

Lightened hair comes out cooler and cleaner looking, silver reads silver rather than dull, and the overall shade looks like it was toned recently rather than eight weeks ago.

Composition

The full INCI is printed on the pack. We publish it here as soon as the brand supplies it, and we will read it off the bottle for you if you ask.
