CIBU Curl + Coil Shampoo 1L - Gentle, Sulfate-Free Curl Care for Defined, Frizz-Free Hair
The litre bottle is the point of difference here. Curls and coils get through shampoo faster than most hair does, especially on a long wash day with sectioning involved, and a 1 litre bottle works out cheaper per wash than replacing a 350ml one every few weeks.
The formula itself is sulphate-free and built around aloe, jojoba and sunflower oil. It lathers less than a traditional shampoo, which is normal, and it rinses out without the film that heavier cleansing conditioners can leave at the root. Paraben-free, cruelty-free and safe on colour.
Massage it into a wet scalp, work the run-off down the lengths, rinse properly, then follow with the matching CIBU Curl + Coil Conditioner if you want more slip for detangling.
- Sulphate-free daily cleanse for curls and coils
- Aloe, jojoba and sunflower oil for softness
- Safe on colour-treated and damaged hair
- Detangles enough to make comb-through easier
One practical note on a bottle this size: it is heavy and awkward with wet hands, so decant a week's worth into a smaller pump for the shower and keep the litre under the sink. Good for anyone from loose curls to tight coils who is tired of buying shampoo every month.

Application tips
A litre bottle lives on the shelf rather than in the shower caddy, so decant if your bathroom is tight. Wet the hair right through first, then push the lather around the scalp with the pads of your fingers, never the nails. The lengths get cleaned by whatever runs down them on the rinse. Two rounds on a heavy product week, one otherwise. Rinse until the water runs clear, then condition while everything is still soaking.
Results
The scalp feels genuinely clean without the squeak that follows a stripping wash, and the coil pattern is still there when you rinse rather than a flat sheet of hair. Curls dry lighter and clump instead of splitting into frizz. Colour holds its tone longer between salon visits. On a tight coil the difference shows up most at detangling, where the hair gives instead of resisting.
Composition
- Aloe
- Draws water into the strand while the lather lifts oil away
- Jojoba Oil
- Sits close to the hair's own oils, so nothing feels stripped
- Sunflower Oil
- Light conditioning that softens the lengths without dragging the curl down
