A scalp mask that goes on before the shampoo rather than after it, which is the detail that makes it work. Anything loose gets softened, lifted and then washed straight out with the shampoo instead of being left sitting on the skin.

The formula moisturises the scalp and helps it feel more comfortable, with oat and ginger extracts and bisabolol as the named calming ingredients. Massaging it in is part of the treatment rather than an instruction to skip, and the few minutes it takes is where most of the benefit sits.

Use it on a dry or damp scalp before you wash, work it in properly with your fingertips, then shampoo as usual. Anyone whose scalp feels tight and dry through winter, or under regular styling product, will get the most out of the 300ml tub.

Application tips

This one goes on before shampoo, not after. Work it into a dry or damp scalp in sections, using the pads of the fingers rather than the nails, and give it a proper few minutes of massage.

Leave it ten minutes while you get on with something else, then shampoo it out as normal. Any loosened flakes leave with the water. Once a week is enough for most scalps.

Results

A dry scalp feels comfortable rather than tight, and the skin along the parting stops flaking as visibly.

Hair washes out feeling clean at the roots with no weight left behind. Because the moisturising step happens before the shampoo, the lengths do not end up coated. Most people notice the difference by the second or third wash.
