Cantu Wave Whip Curling Mousse 8.5 oz / 248 ml - For Frizz-Free Curls & Waves
Mousse is the right format for waves and looser curls, and it is the one people forget about. It goes on light, it does not weigh the pattern down, and it dries without the shell you get from a firm gel. Cantu's Wave Whip is that kind of mousse, with shea butter in it so it conditions a little while it holds.
The hold is soft. You get shape and separation rather than a set style, and nothing crunches when you touch it. Frizz stays down through the day because the formula smooths as it dries, not because it has glued anything in place.
248 ml, and best on 2a to 3b hair, meaning waves and looser curls that want definition with some movement left in them.
Shake it, dispense into your palm, then rake or scrunch it through soaking wet hair before you diffuse or air dry. A little goes further than you think, so start small and add.

Application tips
Two golf-ball sized handfuls cover shoulder length, one for anything shorter. Apply while the hair is still dripping, not towel-dried, since mousse spreads on water.
Then leave it alone. Touching the hair as it dries breaks the wave into frizz, and that is the single most common way this format goes wrong. Diffuse on low heat with the sections cupped, or let it air dry. Day two comes back with a spritz of water.
Results
Waves come out as waves, with a visible S rather than a vague bend, and the sections stay separate instead of merging into one sheet. Volume survives, which is the part gels usually cost you. The hair keeps its lift at the root and its movement through the length. Run your fingers through at the end of the day and the pattern loosens rather than falling out.
Composition
- Shea Butter
- Conditions the strand while the mousse sets, so hold does not mean dry
