Cantu Tea Tree & Jojoba Hair & Scalp Oil 6 oz / 180 ml - For Healthy Hair Growth & Scalp Relief
Two oils and a butter, each there for a different reason. Jojoba is the closest thing in cosmetics to the oil a scalp makes for itself, so it absorbs rather than sitting on top. Tea tree brings the cooling and the clean scent. Shea butter is the weight that keeps the whole thing on the hair.
Cantu sell it in a 6 oz bottle, which is generous for a scalp oil and priced to be used rather than saved.
The scalp is where it earns its keep. Applied along the partings and massaged in, it eases the dry, tight feeling that comes with cold weather, frequent washing, or a protective style that leaves the scalp exposed. The cooling from the tea tree is immediate; the conditioning builds up over a few weeks. On the lengths it softens and keeps strands flexible enough to cut down breakage under a comb.
Apply to the scalp two or three times a week. Suits wavy through 3b hair, and works on tighter textures as a scalp step if you are using something heavier on the lengths.

Application tips
Part the hair into rows about an inch apart and lay a thin line down each one.
Three or four rows across the head is plenty for a first go. Massage with the pads of your fingers, never your nails, and give it a minute rather than ten seconds.
It goes on best the night before a wash, or on the second day of a protective style when the scalp starts feeling tight.
Results
The cooling arrives within a minute and hangs around, which is the whole appeal on a scalp that has been under a wig cap or a hat all day.
On the lengths it settles into a low sheen rather than a wet-looking gloss, and comb-throughs get quieter. Three weeks in, the softness holds longer between applications, so you reach for it out of habit rather than because the hair has gone dry again.
