The rinse-out conditioner from Cantu's grapeseed line, and the step most people skip when they are in a hurry. It is worth the few minutes: this is where detangling gets easier, and where the shampoo stops being the last thing your hair remembers.
Grapeseed oil and avocado oil do the conditioning. Grapeseed keeps it light enough for looser curls that go flat under anything heavy, while the avocado oil gives it enough substance for denser textures. It is sulfate-free, so it is not undoing the work of a gentle wash.
Slip is the practical benefit. Wet hair moves through your fingers or a comb without tugging, which is most of what stops breakage at the detangling stage.

Application tips
Shampoo, then get the water out of the hair before this goes near it. Work it in from the ends up, section by section, and detangle while it is on, either with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
Three minutes is enough. Rinse most of it out, though leaving a trace on the ends does no harm on drier textures.
Results
Wet hair goes slippery straight away, which is the whole reason to bother with this step. Fingers run to the ends without catching, so fewer strands come out during the part of wash day that costs you the most length.
Once dry, waves keep their bounce rather than being pressed flat, and denser curls feel fed rather than coated.
