Second-day hair on a child is usually flat on one side and frizzy on the other. Rewashing is not a realistic answer on a school morning. A refresher spray is, and this is Cantu's version for kids.
It is a light mist with pure shea butter in it. You spray, the curls take the moisture, and the pattern springs back without the greasiness that comes from reaching for an oil instead. There is no tugging involved, which is half the battle with small children and hair.
Spray onto dry curls, scrunch gently with your hands, and leave it. Do not brush. It works just as well after a windy walk home as it does first thing.
It is a refresher rather than a detangler, so it will not rescue a properly matted head. That still takes water and conditioner. What it does is bring a day-old style back in under a minute, which on a school morning is the job that needs doing.

Application tips
Dry hair, morning or after school. Hold the bottle a hand's width off and mist across the head, concentrating on the flattened side they slept on.
Cup a handful of curls, squeeze upward, move on. Fingers only, because a brush at this stage separates the very clumps you are trying to bring back. Two minutes, no water, no negotiation.
Results
Curls plump back up and the flat patch at the back lifts. The finish is light, so hair still moves and nobody ends up with the slicked, oily look that a heavier product leaves on a child.
