Cantu's original deep treatment masque is built on pure shea, and shea behaves differently from lighter conditioning oils. It is heavy, it stays on the hair rather than rinsing straight off, and it works on the cuticle over a run of uses rather than delivering everything on the first wash. Hair feels silkier after a month of it, not after an afternoon.
The hair it is for has usually been through something. Colour, a relaxer, or a straightener used often enough that ordinary conditioner stopped registering.

Application tips
Wash first, squeeze the water out, then work it through section by section with a comb so the ends get covered and not just the top layer.
Fifteen or twenty minutes is plenty, longer under a warm towel. Rinse properly, because shea is heavy and anything left in will read as limp roots by the following morning. Sunday nights suit it.
Results
Weight is the first change. Hair that had gone papery gets some substance back, so it moves as a mass instead of flying apart in dry air. Detangling costs fewer strands.
Colour looks deeper because a smooth cuticle throws light rather than scattering it, and the wiry feel that follows a relaxer or a straightener softens off with repeated use.
