Cantu Avocado Shampoo 13.5 oz / 400 ml - For Hydrated Curly & Coily Hair
Dry curls tend to get worse on wash day, not better, because most shampoos strip more than they need to. Cantu's Avocado Hydrating Shampoo is built to avoid that. It cleanses, but it puts moisture back at the same time, so hair does not come out of the shower squeaking and tangled.
The moisture comes from shea butter and avocado oil. Both are heavier conditioning ingredients than you usually find in a cleanser, which is why this one suits coils and dense curls that lose water quickly. Hair feels softer while it is still wet, and frizz is easier to keep down once it dries.
Work it into a wet scalp first, then let the lather run down the lengths rather than scrubbing them. Follow with a conditioner or a mask, because a hydrating shampoo is a starting point rather than the whole wash.
400 ml. Suits curly, coily and wavy textures, roughly 3b through 4c.

Application tips
Use warm water rather than hot, and wet the hair right through before the shampoo goes near it.
A palmful is usually enough for the first pass, half that for a second if you are washing after a fortnight of butters. Once a week suits most dense textures, twice if your scalp runs oily or you train most days.
Results
Hair comes out clean but still soft while wet, which is unusual for a shampoo and the main reason to pick this one for dry hair.
Because the strand has not been stripped, the conditioner afterwards has less repair work to do and you need less of it. Coils and dense curls keep their moisture through the wash instead of losing it and needing it put back.
Composition
- Shea Butter
