The trade-off with most curl gels is hold against feel. Enough hold to keep the shape and the hair goes crunchy; enough softness and the curl drops by lunchtime. Curl Maker is Camille Rose's answer to that, and it is the product the brand is best known for.
Marshmallow root does the slip. It is one of the better natural detanglers, and it softens the hair as you work the product through, so applying it doubles as a final pass through the strands. Agave nectar is a humectant, drawing moisture in and keeping the curl supple rather than brittle. Aloe vera rounds it out and adds shine.
The result holds a wash-and-go or a defined set with movement left in it. There is a light cast when it dries. Scrunch it out with dry hands and the curl stays put.
It covers a wide range, from loose waves at type 2a through to type 4a coils. Start with less on finer hair, since the formula is rich enough to weigh a loose wave down if you overapply. 12 oz.

Application tips
Wet hair, sectioned, and worked through with the fingers so every strand gets coated. Rake first for even coverage, then either scrunch upwards for volume or smooth each piece down for a longer, sleeker curl.
Leave it completely alone as it dries. Touching a setting gel halfway through is what causes frizz, not the gel itself. Diffuse on low if you are in a hurry.
Results
Curls come out clumped and springy with a hold that survives a full day rather than dropping by lunchtime. Shine is high, and the definition sits somewhere between a soft set and a firm one.
There is a light cast once dry, which scrunches away easily and leaves the curl in place. Underneath it, hair feels soft rather than coated.
