Brazil nut oil is less familiar than argan or coconut, and its useful property is that it sits in between them. Heavy enough to condition properly, light enough not to flatten a curl pattern, which makes it a good default if you have never settled on one oil.

Application tips
Stand the bottle in a mug of hot water for a couple of minutes before a pre-wash treatment, which makes it spread far more easily.
Four or five drops for the ends, more if you are coating the whole length. Braid or twist the hair afterwards and leave it an hour, or overnight under a bonnet. Anyone with a nut allergy should skip this one entirely.
Results
Ends stop looking frayed and start catching the light, and the gloss holds for a couple of days rather than a couple of hours. Hair feels supple in the hand instead of crisp, so a comb passes without that dry snap.
On the scalp it leaves a conditioned feel with no film at the roots, and the curl pattern stays intact rather than being dragged straight.
