Vitamin E, wheat germ oil and coconut oil carry this one. Coconut oil is among the few that get inside the strand rather than sitting on it, so the moisture goes somewhere useful. Wheat germ oil and vitamin E work on the outside, smoothing the cuticle and putting back the shine that dry hair loses first.
On the scalp it settles the tight, itchy feeling that comes with dryness, particularly in winter when the heating is on and the hair never really gets a chance to recover.
Apply in parts, a small amount at a time, then massage in. Type 2a through 3b. If you use it daily rather than weekly, use less than you think, because it builds up and eventually needs a clarifying wash to shift.

Application tips
Warm a fingertip between the palms until it loosens, then run it along an exposed parting and massage with the pads of the fingers. Move the parting across the head an inch at a time so nothing is missed and nothing is doubled.
Whatever is left on the hands goes through the lengths, ends last. Comb through afterwards to spread it. Keep the amount honest, because this builds up.
