This is the cleansing step in Avlon's Texture Release system, which tells you most of what you need to know about how it is meant to be used. It prepares the hair for what comes after rather than working alone.

It is sulfate-free, so the cleanse is thorough without the stripping, and the focus sits on the scalp. Product build-up and everyday residue come away, the scalp is left feeling balanced instead of tight or itchy, and the hair goes into the next step clean enough to actually absorb it.

At 473 ml (15.99 oz) this is a professional size, which fits a product designed around a salon system rather than a single wash.

Works on all hair types and earns its place most on textured hair through the 2a to 3c range, particularly if you are building toward a treatment and want the hair properly prepared first.

Application tips

Wet the hair right through first, then work it in at the roots, four sections at a time. Fingertips rather than nails.

The lather is modest without sulphates, and that is the formula behaving normally. If you have been wearing product all week, do a quick first wash, rinse, and go again properly. Condition immediately afterwards.

Results

Build up and excess oil are gone, but the moisture is not, which is the whole reason to wash without sulphates.

Hair does not squeak, so the comb moves through it while it is wet. Colour and chemically processed lengths hold up to weekly washing on this. The conditioner that follows goes further, because the hair is not starting from bone dry.

Composition

No sulphates

The full INCI is printed on the pack. We publish it here as soon as the brand supplies it, and we will read it off the bottle for you if you ask.
