Cream shampoos foam less than the sulfate versions, and people read that as nothing happening. It is the opposite. Lather Up cleans through a creamy base rather than a stripping lather, so the hair comes out clean without the squeaky, tangled feeling that sends you straight for a heavy conditioner.
The creme texture keeps the product where it belongs. You work it into the scalp with your fingertips and let the run-off clean the lengths on the way down, so the ends never get scrubbed. That technique alone spares them a lot of wear over a year of washes, and a 10oz bottle goes further when you are only lathering the roots.
Expect a light lather on the first pass. If the hair is coated in butters or gel, wash twice and let the second pass do the actual cleaning.

Application tips
Emulsify it first. A cream this thick will not spread on its own, so add a splash of water to your palms and rub before it touches the head.
Four sections on dense hair, then fingertips or a soft scalp brush in small circles at the roots. Two or three minutes of that beats a bigger handful. Rinse thoroughly, because a cream base clings longer than a foaming one.
Results
The scalp comes up genuinely clean without the tight, squeaky finish that usually follows a wash. Hair stays soft through the rinse and detangles far more easily than it would after a foaming shampoo.
Ends keep their moisture, curl clumps hold together instead of scattering, and colour-treated lengths lose less tone over a month of washes.
