Cream shampoos foam less than the sulfate versions, and people read that as nothing happening. It is the opposite. Lather Up cleans through a creamy base rather than a stripping lather, so the hair comes out clean without the squeaky, tangled feeling that sends you straight for a heavy conditioner.
The creme texture keeps the product where it belongs. You work it into the scalp with your fingertips and let the run-off clean the lengths on the way down, so the ends never get scrubbed. That technique alone spares them a lot of wear over a year of washes, and a 10oz bottle goes further when you are only lathering the roots.
Expect a light lather on the first pass. If the hair is coated in butters or gel, wash twice and let the second pass do the actual cleaning.
