Coconut oil is one of the few oils that gets inside the hair shaft rather than sitting on top, which is why it turns up in so many curl products. Curl Boss is built around it in a gelee format, somewhere between a gel and a jelly: firm enough to define, wet enough to spread.
The range it covers is unusually wide. Loose waves at 2a and tight coils at 4a both get definition out of it, because the hold is set by how much you use rather than fixed by the formula.
Apply to wet hair, working through one part at a time. Rake it in, then shingle or scrunch depending on the finish you want. It dries with a cast, and you scrunch that out once the hair is bone dry.
