As I Am Jamaican Black Castor Oil Water 16 oz
The name is doing something specific. A castor oil water is a thinned delivery of an oil that is normally far too heavy to apply directly, which means the castor oil reaches the scalp and the lengths without the weight or the residue that comes with the neat version.
As I Am built this one to be used often rather than sparingly. It goes on the scalp between washes when things feel dry and tight, and through the lengths on styling day when hair wants slip but not grease. At 16 oz there is enough in the bottle to actually use it that way instead of rationing it.
Because the texture is light, it layers. Put it down before a leave-in on damp hair, or work it into a dry scalp under braids and twists where a heavy oil would only build up.

Application tips
Shake it, part the hair, and apply straight onto the scalp rather than over the top of the style. Massage in with your fingertips.
On styling day, work it through the lengths before your leave-in so that has something to hold onto. Under braids or twists, go back to it every couple of days. Nothing to rinse, and no need to ration it at this size.
Results
Tightness at the scalp eases off without anything greasy landing on top, so a set style survives the application.
On the lengths it adds slip and a low shine rather than weight, and it layers cleanly under a cream or gel. Hair combs out with less snagging afterwards, which is where most of the length gets lost.
