As I Am Coconut Cowash Hydrating & Cleansing for Curly Hair 16 oz
The 16 oz size exists because people get through Coconut Cowash fast. Co-washing uses more product than shampooing does, and dense or long hair can empty the smaller size inside a month.
The formula is unchanged. A coconut oil based cleansing conditioner for curly, coily and wavy hair that reacts badly to sulfates.
- Cleans the scalp without stripping the hair's own oils
- Coconut oil goes into the strand rather than coating it
- Enough slip to detangle in the shower
- Keeps elasticity, so hair stretches instead of snapping
Worth pairing with a clarifying wash every few weeks. Co-wash is gentle by design, and gentle means residue accumulates eventually, especially if you use oils or heavy creams between washes.
Covers 2a through 3b textures and holds up well on thicker hair that needs a lot of product per wash.

Application tips
Take more than feels reasonable and work it in properly. Soaking hair, sections clipped up, scalp massaged with fingertips for a couple of minutes.
Finger comb each section while the product is still in, then rinse until the roots feel clear and the lengths stay soft. The larger tub suits dense hair, or a household where more than one person is using it.
Results
Wash day loses a step, because the cleansing and the conditioning happen at once.
Hair keeps its moisture instead of handing it over to a lather, and curls stay defined through the rinse. Combing afterwards costs you less hair.
Over a few weeks, that constant dry, brittle feeling a stripping shampoo leaves stops coming back.
