Humidity is the test that separates a curl product which works from one that photographs well. Curlific is built around that. Cleanse gently, keep frizz down, and let the curl pattern hold its shape when the weather turns damp.
The wash is sulfate-free and paraben-free, so it lathers modestly and leaves the hair's own oils where they are. Wavy, curly and coily textures come out defined rather than fluffed, which is mostly a question of not roughing up the cuticle during the wash itself.
It is the wash step rather than the whole answer. Definition on wavy and loosely curled hair comes from what goes on afterwards, and this one's job is to leave the hair clean and calm enough for that to hold.

Application tips
Split soaking wet hair into sections and clip them out of the way. This one lathers, so a coin sized amount per section is plenty on the scalp and the runoff will handle the lengths.
Massage with the pads of your fingers for a slow minute, then rinse properly. Anything left behind is what makes hair feel coated by Wednesday. Conditioner goes on next, still in sections.
Results
The scalp reads clean and the curl pattern is still there afterwards, which is not always true of a lather shampoo on textured hair.
Frizz sits down from the wash stage, so whatever you style with has less to correct. Hair keeps enough moisture to stay pliable while it dries, and clumps form on their own rather than needing to be coaxed.
