Two products in one bottle is usually a compromise. This one gets away with it because the only difference is how much you use and whether you rinse. Africa's Best made it to work either as a rinse-out treatment or as a lighter leave-in.
As a rinse-out it goes on thick after shampoo, sits for a few minutes and rinses away, leaving hair soft and detangled. As a leave-in you use a fraction of the amount on damp hair and comb it through, and it stays as a light protective layer under whatever you style with.

Application tips
Decide which job you want before you open it.
For the heavier version, coat washed hair from the ears down, give it five minutes and rinse. For the everyday version, take about a third of that, spread it across wet hair with your fingers and leave it in place. Either way, work from the tips towards the roots. Do not do both in one wash.
Results
Rinsed out, hair feels weighted and slippery, and knots come apart without a fight.
Left in, the same formula reads much lighter, giving softness and a bit of shine while still letting a curl move. Frizz sits flatter through the day and hair holds up better under a dryer or a summer afternoon outdoors. Nothing about it feels waxy.
