There is a difference between a conditioner you rinse after a minute and a masque you leave sitting. This is the second kind: a 15 oz tub of deep conditioner built on extra virgin olive oil and shea butter, meant for hair that has been over-processed or has simply run out of moisture.
The thickness is the point. It coats heavily, stays put under a cap and gives the oils time to work into the shaft rather than washing off. Hair comes out softer, with more give to it, and combs through without the resistance that leads to snapped ends.

Application tips
Wash first, then wring the hair out properly, because this is thick and will not spread through a soaked head.
Scoop, warm it between the palms, and pack it onto the last few inches before working upward. A cap and twenty minutes gets far more out of it than five. Rinse in tepid water until the ends squeak slightly, then style as normal.
Results
Hair comes out heavier and calmer. Coarse lengths soften enough that a wide tooth comb passes in one go, and the ends stop looking frayed and pale.
Shea butter and olive oil leave a low shine and a bit of weight, which is what over processed hair wants and what fine hair does not. Elasticity improves, so combing costs you fewer strands.
