Africa's Best Originals Honey And Castor Co Wash 12oz
Honey and castor oil are an odd pairing on paper and a sensible one in a co-wash. Honey holds water into the hair, castor oil is thick enough to stay on the strand through a rinse, and between them the hair leaves the shower already conditioned.
This is a cleansing conditioner rather than a shampoo, so there is no sulfate and very little foam. It lifts sweat, dust and light product off the scalp and lengths while leaving the natural oils alone, which is the whole reason co-washing exists for coily hair.
The 12oz size is meant for regular use, because that is how co-washing works best. Often, in place of shampoo, with a clarifying wash every few weeks so build-up cannot creep up on you.
Made for 3b through 4c textures that go dry and rough after a foaming shampoo.

Application tips
Wet the hair thoroughly first, more thoroughly than you would for shampoo, because a co wash needs water to spread.
Squeeze a line of it along your palm, then work it into the scalp with your fingertips in small circles. Pull the rest down the lengths, finger comb, and let it sit for two minutes. Rinse for longer than feels necessary. Weekly, or twice weekly in summer.
Results
Hair comes out clean without the tight, squeaky feeling a lather leaves behind.
Curls stay grouped rather than blowing apart, the comb moves, and the scalp feels settled instead of raw. Because nothing has been pulled out, whatever you style with afterwards spreads evenly and goes further. Coils and waves both keep their pattern through the wash.
Composition
