Coarse hair resists a relaxer in a way finer hair does not, so a regular strength system will often leave you with a result that reverts quickly. This is the coarse strength version, made for children whose hair is dense and hard to process.
It is a no lye formula, the milder of the two relaxer chemistries on a young scalp, and it carries a blend of conditioners through the process so hair comes out supple rather than stripped. The finish is straight, soft and shiny, and far simpler to comb and style day to day.

Application tips
Coarse hair takes longer to process, which makes the timing the part to get right.
Leave it unwashed for a few days beforehand so the scalp keeps its natural oils. Apply the protective base first, then work through in four quarters, back sections before front. Watch the clock from when you started, not when you finished. Rinse thoroughly and neutralise with the shampoo supplied.
Results
Coarse, resistant texture comes out straight and stays manageable, so brushing, tying and parting all take a fraction of the time.
The conditioning side of the system leaves the hair soft rather than dry and squeaky, with shine along the length. The scalp is kept comfortable through the process.
The result sits smooth and supple rather than flat, so there is still body to style with.
