Africa's Best sell this in their growth oil line, and what it actually is on the shelf is a light coconut oil for hair and scalp in a 4 oz bottle. Straightforward, cheap enough to use daily, thin enough to work into a section without turning it greasy.
Coconut penetrates the strand better than most oils, which is why it shows up in conditioning products as often as in sealing ones. Here it does two jobs. It softens dry, coarse-feeling hair, and it puts shine back into lengths that have gone dull.
The breakage side is the more useful claim. Hair that is soft and conditioned survives combing, and hair that survives combing keeps the length it already has. That is a slow benefit rather than a dramatic one.
Apply a small amount to the scalp and massage it in, then run what is left through the lengths. Daily is fine.
Best on wavy through 3c hair that feels dry and breaks at the ends. On very coarse 4c hair you may want something heavier.
