Africa's Best Castor Oil 5.25 oz
Despite the name on the front, this is a leave-in hair and scalp conditioner rather than a bottle of neat oil. The texture is closer to a light grease, which is what makes it stay put on the scalp and on the ends where you want it.
Castor oil, listed as Ricinus Communis seed oil, does the sealing, and a blend of African botanical extracts handles the conditioning around it.

Application tips
Scrape a fingertip's worth out and rub it between the palms until it thins, then press it onto the ends and along any parting that feels rough. Less is genuinely more with a grease. Two applications of a tiny amount beat one of a large one. Wash it out with a clarifying shampoo weekly so it does not sit and build.
Results
Rough, lacklustre hair evens out and picks up a soft sheen instead of looking flat.
Ends feel smoother, so detangling and styling both go faster. The scalp is more comfortable where the skin had gone dry and tight. It is heavy enough to seal moisture in but light enough to avoid a slick finish, and it will not upset relaxed or colour treated hair.
