African Pride Black Castor Miracle Sealing Oil 6oz
Protective styles create a specific problem. The hair is tucked away and you cannot get to it, but the scalp is exposed at every parting and the edges are under constant tension. This 6oz oil is built for exactly that situation.
African Pride blend black castor with tea tree and soybean oil. Castor is the heavy one that stays where you place it, soybean thins it enough to spread, and tea tree brings the clean scent and the light coolness on the scalp.
It is a sealing oil, so the job is moisture retention rather than moisture delivery. Applied over damp hair or after a spritz, it slows the rate at which that water leaves.
Apply daily as needed. Massage into the scalp along the partings, then work it into the edges and the nape where the pulling is worst. Under a weave, apply it to the braided base rather than the hair on top.
Made for braids, crochets, protective styles and the in-between weeks when your own hair is not accessible. Best on 3b through 4c.

Application tips
Spritz with water first, always. Oil on a dry scalp seals the dryness in and does nothing useful.
Two or three drops per parting is the ceiling. More than that and the scalp goes greasy and starts collecting lint from a scarf.
Every other day suits most people, daily only if the scalp is very dry. Keep it off synthetic extension hair, which just looks wet.
Results
Tightness between washes lets up, and the dryness that builds under a long install eases off. Edges and nape stay supple where the tension is worst.
Hair keeps the moisture you gave it for longer, so a spritz on Monday is still doing something by Thursday. There is a faint coolness on application and a low sheen on the braids afterwards rather than a wet look.
