Black castor oil, coconut milk and shea butter do the conditioning. It is a heavy combination by design, meant to get into the strand rather than sit on top of it.
There are two ways to run it. The quick version is five minutes on clean wet hair, distributed evenly from roots to ends, detangling with a wide-tooth comb as you go, then rinsed thoroughly. The longer version is the same application under a plastic cap with moderate heat for up to thirty minutes, which is what to do if hair has been neglected for a while and needs more than a rinse-out conditioner can give it.

Application tips
A 2 oz pot covers about two treatments on shoulder length hair, or four if you keep it to the ends. Scoop with a spatula rather than wet fingers so the rest keeps. Slot it in after shampoo and before any leave in, once a fortnight. Skip the roots if your hair is fine. This one is rich enough that a full head every week will start to weigh the pattern down.
Results
Hair that had gone past dry into rough comes back soft to the touch, and the ends stop feeling like wire. Curl clumps re form instead of separating into frizz.
With heat under a cap the effect goes deeper and holds closer to the next wash. Lengths feel weightier in a good way, hold water better, and take styling product without drinking it all in the first minute.
