Foam wrap is one of the older ways of setting hair and still one of the more reliable, because the product spreads itself through the foam rather than being dragged through wet hair by hand. Apply to towel-dried hair and distribute it evenly, then wrap, set or style as you intend. Let it dry fully before taking anything down, because most of the definition arrives during that last stage rather than during the application.

Application tips
Wet hair, straight out of the towel. Two palmfuls of foam for a full head, worked in section by section rather than piled on top.
For a wrap, comb it round the head and set. For curls, scrunch upward and either diffuse or leave it.
Do not touch it while it dries. Break the cast with oiled hands at the end.
Results
Curls come out defined and springy, with hold that survives being slept on. Wrapped styles dry down smooth and keep the sleekness through a second day.
Nothing chalky is left on the surface as it dries, which is where most foam wraps fall over. Hair stays soft enough to run a hand through without the style collapsing.
