Application tips
Co-washing takes more product than shampoo and more work with the hands. Wet the hair through, apply straight to the scalp in four sections, and massage with fingertips, not nails, for a good minute per section.
Pull the rest down the lengths, finger detangle while it is slippery, then rinse until the water runs clear. Every fortnight or so, swap it for a clarifying wash.
Results
Hair comes out clean without the squeak. Curls stay soft and clumped instead of springing apart the way they do after a stripping wash, and detangling happens in the shower rather than afterwards. Moisture is the point of the format. Coils feel conditioned as soon as they are rinsed, and wash day gets shorter because the conditioner has less repair work to do.
