Mousse is the lightest way to get definition into curls, which is worth knowing if creams and gels have ever left your hair feeling heavy or looking flat at the root. This one uses the same rice water and electrolyte base as the rest of the Vatika Curls range, in a foam that disappears into wet hair.
The hold is flexible. Curls keep their shape without stiffness or crunch, and they stay soft enough to run your fingers through. Shine goes up, frizz comes down, and coils that normally collapse by lunchtime hold their form for longer.
Dispense into your palm, distribute through wet or damp hair in sections, then scrunch upwards to encourage the curl to form. Air dry or diffuse.
Best on curls and coils that want volume as well as definition, and particularly on finer textures that a cream would weigh down.

Application tips
Dispense into an upturned palm rather than straight onto the head, so you can see how much you are using. Shake the can first.
An orange-sized handful covers most heads, less on fine hair. Apply to soaking wet hair, scrunching upwards from the ends so the foam collapses into the curl. Diffuse on low heat and low speed, or air dry, then scrunch out any crispness once it is completely dry.
Results
Mousse gives lift that a cream cannot, because it goes on light and does not weigh the root down.
Curls come out defined and springy with hold that bends rather than snaps, and the panthenol and rice water in it mean the hair still feels conditioned rather than set. Second-day curls hold their shape if you sleep in a bonnet. Fine and wavy hair is where the format works hardest.
