Rosemary and mint is the scent combination that has taken over textured hair care in the last few years, and Sunny Isle's version sits it on top of their Jamaican black castor oil base.
As a conditioner it is doing two jobs. Keratin protein goes to hair that has been weakened by colour, heat or relaxer, giving the strand structure to hold onto so it flexes rather than snaps. The castor oil handles the moisture side and gives the formula enough slip to comb through properly. A 12 oz bottle of a rinse-out conditioner is a couple of months of normal use. Apply to clean damp hair, work it from the ends towards the roots, leave it while you finish showering and rinse. The mint gives a light cooling feel on the scalp, which is pleasant rather than functional. Best for hair that is dry, damaged or chemically treated and needs a protein element in its routine, and worth alternating with a purely moisturising conditioner rather than using every single wash.
