Parachute Advansed Castor & Shea-Enriched Coconut Hair Oil Softens and Strengthens Hair 200 ml/6.8 oz
Coconut oil with castor and shea added, in the brown bottle with a blue cap. Parachute label this one for thick and strong hair, which is the easiest way to tell it apart from the Argan, Rosemary and Onion bottles.
The formula is lightweight and non-sticky, which is not a given when castor is in the mix, and it carries a pleasant fragrance rather than the heavy nutty smell you might expect. It nourishes the roots, conditions hair that looks dry, and leaves the strands feeling softer and easier to work with. Regular use supports strength and cuts down on breakage, which is described in terms of how the hair feels and looks rather than any lasting structural change.
- Coconut, castor and shea in one bottle
- Lightweight and non-sticky despite the castor content
- Conditions dry-looking hair and improves manageability
- 200 ml/6.8 oz
Apply from the roots through the lengths, massaging with the fingertips. Use it before washing as a treatment, or a small amount afterwards for softness and shine.

Application tips
Castor is the slow one in the blend, so give it more time than a lighter oil needs. Warm a palmful, then work it in rows across the scalp before you touch the lengths, and take five minutes over the massage rather than one.
Coil the hair up and leave it for an hour, or overnight if you wash in the morning. Shampoo twice. Once a week suits most people, twice if your hair drinks it.
Results
Coarse, thick hair softens without going limp, which is the balance castor and shea strike between them. Lengths that looked parched gain some gloss and stop feeling like straw under your hand.
Since the blend stays light, hair does not turn tacky or heavy the way a neat castor oil can. Strands hold up better to combing and styling, so you keep the length you have grown instead of leaving it in the brush.
Composition
- Coconut Oil
- The base of the blend, conditioning dry lengths from the inside
- Castor Oil
- Thick and coating, so each strand feels denser and less fragile
