The trouble is that the cuticle does not simply close again afterwards, so the same door the colour went through is the one it leaves by, a little at a time, every wash. Osmo Colour Save is built around closing it. The formula conditions in the usual way and puts a protective layer over the cuticle so pigment stays where it was put. That applies across the range, from bleached blonde through to reds and deep brunettes, and it works on highlights as well as all-over colour.

Application tips
Every wash, without exception, is how a colour conditioner earns its money. Squeeze the hair out, apply from mid-length down, and comb it through so the porous sections get their share.
Leave it two or three minutes. Rinse in cool water rather than hot, since heat lifts the cuticle again and undoes what you have just done.
Results
Colour keeps its depth for longer between appointments, and the fade that does happen is more even rather than patching out at the ends first.
The hair itself is soft, glossy and easy to comb, which matters because rough handling on coloured hair is what pulls pigment out. Nothing accumulates over repeated use, so it can go on at every wash.
